Upgrading FACTORY I/O from v1 to v2

All v1 customers can upgrade to FACTORY I/O 2 for free. To upgrade just run the installer.
Your license will be automatically upgraded to v2 and any driver purchased for v1 will be unlocked on v2.

We highly recommend that you backup your scenes before upgrading.

FACTORY I/O will run on any standard computer as long as it complies with the following minimum requirements:

  • Windows Vista or higher
  • Intel Core 2 Duo at 2Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 x2 2Ghz or higher
  • 1Gb RAM Memory
  • 500Mb hard disk space
  • NVIDIA cards since 2007 (GeForce 8 Series), AMD cards since 2007 (Radeon 2xxx Series), Intel cards since 2008 (GMA 4500)
  • Support for shader model 2.0 or higher
  • DirectX compatible sound card
  • DirectX 9.0c
Yes. However, some parts have been changed and must be replaced when opened in v2. Check the list of changed parts here.
We no longer recommend CONNECT I/O to be used with FACTORY I/O. Version 2.0 has all drivers built-in, so there is no need to use CONNECT I/O. Also, the number of I/O points available in FACTORY I/O is not limited anymore. If you still want to use CONNECT I/O, you can download it here.

Yes. Deactivate FACTORY I/O on the first computer, this will set the license free allowing you to activate it on another computer. Learn more about licensing here.
Yes, but you have to create the image before activating FACTORY I/O. After activation, the license will be locked to that specific computer and will not work on another one.
Yes, if you are using standalone licenses. Floating licenses are not allowed to run on virtual machines.
